It’s no secret that the world of criminal defense is the most high pressure, high stress, and high stakes area of law in this country. In a nation founded upon the rule of law, violations of the criminal code at the federal and state level are the only way to lose one’s self evident right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. At Pietropaolo Law offices, while I will handle other types of cases on rare occasions, I’ve chosen to dedicate 99% of this practice to defending you when the stakes are highest. I believe it is better to be exceptional in one area of law rather than being ordinary in many. I will be ready to represent you in any criminal matter ranging from homicides and high level assault cases, to sexual assault allegations, through all misdemeanor level offenses, right down to the lowest level non-criminal traffic offenses.

Appeals

 

Our criminal justice system is far from perfect and while society at large seems to believe that the Courts always get it right, the fact remains that they often get it wrong. While the best and most efficient way is to win at trial, it is sometimes unavoidable to lose a case at the trial level. When that happens, you need to seek relief in the appellate courts and I will be there to help guide you through this complex process with my strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skillset.

Federal Criminal Defense

Traffic Cases

 

Though most people think of traffic tickets and think “fines,” there are more serious penalties that can include jail time. Even if the penalties aren’t that serious in the beginning, traffic offenses tend to snowball and the consequences get more serious quickly. Let me help you stop a minor problem from becoming a major one.

License Restoration

 

If you’ve already gone through a traffic case, received a ton of points on your driver’s license, had a DUI or 2, or even had a license suspension where you still don’t have your license back because you owe money to the Commonwealth, make sure to call me. I can help you get back your driving privileges, even when you think, or you’ve been told, that there’s no chance to get it back.

Expungements

 

Expungements are the tool to use to clean up a person’s criminal record when their case is successfully completed. Even if your case ends with a not guilty verdict the charges filed will remain of public record until you are able to wipe that record clean with an expungement. This can impact jobs and even have certain housing implications; let me help you wipe the slate clean.
